Girls, it is important to identify your goal and make effort and progress to achieve it. To help you organize and know what goals are healthy for your mind and body, use the G.O.A.L chart. For example, if you want to lose 5 pounds, question the G.O.A.L. Ask yourself. (G) Is the motive of losing 5 pounds glorifying God? Are you doing it for the right reasons? Are you just doing this so that you’ll get more acceptances from the guys and the popular girls? Are you discouraged with your self-image? Does God really want you to feel this way? Know that your God given talent and ability are always in options for using to glorifying God. Your God-given talents could also be a way to fulfill his purpose. (O) Are you overachieving? Are you doing more than you are able to attain? Is this goal healthy for you? Can your body really handle it? It’s important to balance your school work with rest. If you feel tired once in a while, it’s okay to rest, or do something you really like to relax your mind and body. (A) Is this goal appropriate and important to you? Goals can be very important in building character and self-image. Is this challenge going to fulfill your needs? Look for opportunities and reasoning to achieve this goal. (L) Is the schedule logical? Will 5 months do? Will 1 month do? Will 4 days do? You need to make a logical schedule that you should be able to achieve within a specific time frame. It is important to set a logical schedule to push you and make you want to achieve the goal.
Ask these G.O.A.L questions in whenever you achieve or create a goal. Everyone should identify their goals and make them achievable. The G.O.A.L chart can be used to ask for any goal. Whether it’s to save 500$ by the end of this week for summer camp, get an A for this semester, serve the student council, help a homeless person buy his dinner.. anything! I hope this G.O.A.L chart will help you to sort out what you really want as a teen, and what God wants you to do despite of the conflicts you face.
